*Special VIP Guest

Nobu Matsuhisa (Beverly Hills, CA)
Born and raised in Japan, Nobuyuki Matsuhisa began his career with apprenticeships in the sushi bars of Tokyo before he ventured overseas to Lima, Peru. Being a classically-trained sushi chef, Matsuhisa was challenged by the culture and regional ingredients that contributed to inventive style. From there, he went from Buenos Aires, Argentina, back to Japan, Alaska and ending up in Los Angeles where he opened his famed restaurant, Matsuhisa, in 1987. In 1998, Los Angeles Times magazine included him among Southern California's rising stars, while the New York Times chose Matsuhisa as one of the Top 10 restaurant destinations of the world. In 1994, New York City saw the opening of Nobu in partnership with actor Robert DeNiro. His restaurant in New York City became "The Best New Restaurant" by The James Beard Foundation in 1995. Since opening in New York City, he continued to open in the locations around the world, expanding his influence in the culinary community.
