Giancarlo Impiglia (Bridgehampton, NY)
Giancarlo Impiglia is an artist and art historian whose name is renowned in the world of art and among cruise aficionados. He was born to a family of artists and musicians and he studied at the Art Lyceum and the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and he continued his studies at the Italian Center of Cinematography. Special Interest Lecturer
John Sandon (Staplehurst, England)
John Sandon is well known to most antiques enthusiasts from his regular appearances on BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, now celebrating its 35th year. John grew up in the city of Worcester and has antique porcelain in his blood, inheriting a love of ceramics from his father, Henry Sandon. On leaving the King’s School in Worcester, John joined Phillips in London’s Bond Street as a porcelain specialist. After 36 years, he now directs the International Ceramics and Glass departments at Bonhams, the fine art auctioneers, travelling extensively to view collections worldwide. Bonhams is the leading auctioneer for ceramics in the UK and consequently John is at the heart of the latest research into the history of antique porcelain.
A prolific writer, John is the author of thirteen books on porcelain including his latest Shire guides to collecting Worcester Porcelain, British Porcelain and Meissen Porcelain, and his important The Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain, which has become the standard reference work on the subject. In addition, John writes for many Antiques magazines including BBC Homes and Antiques, and he has been a senior contributor to the popular Miller's Antiques Price Guides. As well as the Antiques Roadshow, on which he appears regularly with his father, John has appeared on other television shows in both the UK and US.
