Special Interest Lecturer

Giancarlo Impiglia (Bridgehampton, NY)
Giancarlo Impiglia is an artist and art historian whose name is renowned in the world of art and among cruise aficionados. When he left his native Rome for New York, he carried with him a solid classical education in Fine Art. He was born to a family of artists and musicians and he studied at the Art Lyceum and the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and he continued his studies at the Italian Center of Cinematography. By the late '60s Giancarlo Impiglia, already a well established artist in his native country, was re-proposing the revival of the international and eclectic Art Deco style, which in the '20s and '30s was adopted for the décor of luxurious cruise ships.
