A popular lecturer and National Public Radio program writer and narrator, Dr. Jennie Congleton speaks at museums, conferences, and Road Scholar programs in the United States and Europe. Her visually rich presentations spotlight the region’s ancient, medieval, and renaissance wonders.
Roman Pryjomko (Vienna, Austria)
Frequent cruise lecturer, author and technical advisor on development issues, Roman Pryjomko holds degrees from Kingston University, London and the University of Miami. He has undertaken assignments in over 40 countries on topics ranging from the environment, humanitarian assistance, governance reform, violence prevention and poverty reduction. He is the co-founder of St. Gabriel Home, a registered charity that assists imprisoned children in Arusha, Tanzania and in 2004, published a travel memoir, Someone, Somewhere: Encounters with People and Places.An avid traveller, writer and geographer, his talks are thought-provoking and anecdotal; embracing both cultural and physical geography, while highlighting the impacts of terrorism, poverty, climate change and shifting geo-politics on the future of our changing world.
Ken Rees (Bristol, England)
Ken Rees brings to the role of destination lecturer over 25 years experience as a world-travelling foreign correspondent. During his career, he has reported extensively from Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. His many news credits include the Lebanese civil war, the first Gulf War, the loss of the space shuttle Challenger, and the sectarian troubles of Northern Ireland. Ken has held almost every job in a television newsroom from scriptwriter, news editor, and reporter to Director of News and Current Affairs. During a 15-year career with Britain’s flagship network program, ITN’s News at Ten, he served as a Senior Foreign Correspondent and spent six years covering the United States from Washington, D.C. In 1986 the Royal Television Society named Ken as Television Reporter of the Year, their highest honor. He now works as a broadcast consultant, trains journalists for TV companies, and writes on travel and world affairs.

Course requirements: please bring your own iPad and pre-load the iMovie application prior to boarding. If you do not already own the iMovie app for iOS, you must have iOS6 in order to purchase and download iMovie ($4.99) from the App Store. You cannot download the app on board the ship.
