Art historian and anthropologist, Dr. Levine is currently Professor of Art History at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA, and is a frequent enrichment speaker on Crystal Cruises.

David Davenport (Burlingame, CA)
David Davenport is Counselor to the Director and a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, a prominent public policy think tank at Stanford University.  From 1985-2000, he served as President of Pepperdine University during a period of dynamic growth in the University’s quality and reputation. David is a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle on politics and policy and also does regular national radio commentaries for the Salem Radio Network.  Davenport has held several political appointments, most recently as a member of Governor Schwarzenegger’s California Performance Review Commission.  He co-chairs Common Sense California, which is a bipartisan effort to reengage citizens and bring their common sense solutions to some of the state’s most pressing problems.  He also serves on the boards of three California-based corporations.

Jeff Greenberg (Los Angeles, CA)
Jeff Greenberg is one of the entertainment industry's most successful and awarded Casting Directors. He won the 2010 Emmy Award and two Artios Awards (which the Casting Society of America bestows as it's highest honor) for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series for the hit comedy Modern Family after having guided the casting chores for such other iconic shows such as Frasier (11 seasons/6 Emmy Nominations/5 Artios Awards) and Cheers (7 seasons). Other television credits include Up All Night, Ugly Betty (Emmy nomination), Wings (8 seasons), Eli Stone, My So-Called Life, Early Edition, NewsRadio and dozens of others. His feature credits include A Night at the Roxbury, Father of the Bride 2, Look Who's Talking and Die Mommie Die! Jeff is the recipient of 25 Artios Nominations.

Passport To Music presented by Yamaha and Crystal Cruises: Instructor Christopher Fisher (Albany, OH) teaches an innovative and fun course as an introduction to keyboard playing for adults. Tradition and technology meet in harmony to create this progressive piano-style program. With an emphasis on hands-on learning using Yamaha's exciting portable keyboards supported by the Clavinova digital piano, guests learn nearly a dozen songs during the cruise. An overview of general musical skills, including listening skills and note reading is included, as well as fun group activities such as music trivia and name that song. Passport To Music is designed for those with little or no previous keyboard experience.

Digital Filmmaking: The iPad iMovie Video Course

Want to take your home movies to the next level? Post your mini-blockbusters or vacation videos to Facebook or YouTube? In five fun classes, learn how to shoot and edit short movies using an iPad. Improve your video and photo skills. The course is taught by professionals, but aimed at non-professionals.
Course requirements: please bring your own iPad and pre-load the iMovie application prior to boarding. If you do not already own the iMovie app for iOS, you must have iOS6 in order to purchase and download iMovie ($4.99) from the App Store. You cannot download the app on board the ship. Due to the hands-on nature of this unique program, class size is limited to 20 participants. Please sign up online using Priority Check-in & Planning Center (PCPC). If you sign up on board, make sure to sign up EARLY.

Nordic Walking
Crystal Cruises is the only cruise line to offer a Nordic Walking program to help you get more out of your limited exercise time on board. The use of lightweight poles for stability and balance will facilitate your fitness needs even if you have knee or hip issues. Two specially designed adjustable poles work the upper body while walking. Like cross country skiing, the poles are used by the arms to match each step the person takes. Our Fitness Staff will guide you to quickly be deck-walking for fun and fitness. You will be using feather weight aluminum poles provided by the market leader, LEKI®.
