Onboard Facilities & Information

Step aboard one of our exceptional river yachts and discover the exacting attention to detail and gracious hospitality that defines our reputation for excellence. Everything we do is designed to make your travels with us as comfortable and carefree as possible.

Boarding the River Yacht

At most embarkation ports, the river yacht is usually available for guests boarding after 12:00 pm (noon), dependent on the river yacht’s clearance by the local port authority. Suites are available for guest occupancy by 3:00 pm. The exact embarkation and sailing times are specified on your cruise ticket. In order to embark, all guests must carry a passport that is valid for six months after the end of the cruise, and with at least four blank pages available for visas (as applicable) per advertised voyage number. Each time you leave the river yacht and re-board in ports of call during your cruise, you will be required to show your room keycard to the security officers at the gangway. On embarkation day, you must be on the river yacht at least two hours prior to scheduled sailing. If the river yacht is scheduled to remain in port overnight or has a scheduled departure time after 9 pm, please plan to be at the pier no later than 7:00pm for security clearance and check-in. Once you are on board, our six-star crew will welcome you and assist with your hand luggage. Your remaining luggage will be delivered to your suite.

On succeeding cruise days (cruise day 2 through the last cruise day/night prior to disembarkation), all guests must be on board the river yacht no later than 30 minutes prior to scheduled port departure.

Upon check-in aboard your river yacht, a credit card must be registered for your onboard expenses. Registering your credit card provides you with the convenience of settling your onboard expenses using our Express Check-out System, ensuring a smooth and expeditious process at the conclusion of your cruise. You will receive an itemized statement delivered to your suite on the morning of debarkation, and your credit card will be billed automatically through your credit card company. If you wish, at the conclusion of the cruise, you may elect to pay for your onboard expenses in cash or by check at Reception. If you decide to pay for your expenses by cash or check, please notify the Reception desk and your credit card will not be charged.

Money Matters

Crystal River Cruises accepts most major credit cards (Visa®, MasterCard®  and American Express®) on board, as do most shoreside retailers worldwide. When traveling ashore, you may find that some of the smaller stores and/or more remote locations prefer cash transactions, in which case it is advisable to have some currency for purchases, typically nothing greater than —100 as many merchants are hesitant to accept them due to counterfeiting. We recommend bringing at least one major credit card, as well as an ATM card that can be used as both a debit and credit card. Note: Travelers Checks are not advisable as they are increasingly difficult to cash even at local banks. It is advisable to contact your personal bank and credit card companies in advance of your travels to let them know you will be traveling abroad.
