Travel Requirements & Documents

It is the responsibility of each guest to have his or her travel documents in order prior to traveling. Here’s what you need to know.

Proof of citizenship is required for ALL guests. Guests must take full responsibility for securing their required travel documents at least one month prior to departure. Failure to comply may result in refusal of passage by Customs and Immigration authorities.

On most cruises, passports are collected and retained by ship staff for the duration of your voyage, in order to facilitate official clearance in each port of call.

Passports/Visas

A passport valid for six months after the completion of the cruise is required for ALL guests. For international voyages, at least four blank visa pages are recommended per cruise i.e.  for a back-to-back voyage, 2 cruises, at least 8 blank passport pages are recommended; for a 5-voyage Full World Cruise, at least 20 passport pages are recommended to accommodate the mandatory (multiple) entry/exit visa stamps for each country visited and included in the Full World Cruise itinerary. Guests must take full responsibility for securing the required travel documents prior to departure. Failure to comply may result in refusal of passage by Customs and Immigration authorities.

Visa Assistance (U.S. Citizens):
Crystal Cruises has arranged with Pinnacle Travel Document Systems to assist you in obtaining visas if they are required for your cruise. Applications and additional information may be downloaded 90 days prior to sailing by visiting their website at www.traveldocs.com/crystal. If you do not have Internet access, please contact Pinnacle Travel Document Systems at 1-888-838-4867 and they can fax or mail you a visa application kit.

Visa Assistance (non-U.S. Citizens):
As visa regulations vary for each nationality, we request that all non-U.S. and non-Canadian citizens contact their travel agent, a local visa service to determine their individual visa requirements for ALL ports. Visa information may also be obtained through the local embassy or consulate of the countries you will be visiting.  It is the guests’ responsibility to obtain all necessary visas. Failure to comply may result in refusal of passage by Customs and Immigration authorities.

Crystal Cruises, Inc. introduces our newest partner, CIBT Visa and Passport Service. As Crystal Cruises, Inc. seeks to expand our exotic travel offerings and immigration policies worldwide become more complex, it is increasingly important that all guests meet the entry requirements for each port of call.  CIBT provides a website, known as “VisaCentral”, to assist our international guests with an easy, fast and professional way to access their visa requirements for each country.  CIBT has offices in the countries listed on the home page and will be able to assist residents of those countries with their visa needs.  If the guests reside in any other country, they can click on the link “Don’t reside in any of these countries?” and still receive information regarding their specific visa requirements. Guest Immigration Information

Cruise documents will only be issued upon receipt of each guest’s completed Guest Immigration form.

Proof of citizenship is required by law and specified in the Cruise Ticket Terms and Conditions, which state:
At the time of embarkation the Passenger is responsible for having received all medical inoculations necessary for the voyage and having in his possession the Cruise Ticket, valid passport, visas, medical card and other documents necessary for the scheduled ports of call and disembarkation.
All guests who travel abroad are required to carry a passport valid for six months after the end of the cruise.

Customs/Duty-Free Exemptions

All luggage is subject to inspection by U.S. Customs upon return to the United States. Guests originating or terminating their cruise in a foreign port are also subject to inspection by U.S. Customs officials. Depending on countries visited, U.S. residents are allowed a duty-free exemption of $200, $300 or $1,600. There are limits on the amount of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, cigars and other tobacco products you may include in your duty-free personal exemption. Additional information can be obtained at any local U.S. Customs office or by visiting the travel section of www.cbp.gov. Customs regulations are subject to change.

Cruise Ticket/Luggage Tags

Your cruise ticket is enclosed with your travel documents; it must be in your possession, along with your valid passport, when you board the ship. Please read the complete terms and conditions on your cruise ticket, as you are bound by them. Prior to leaving for the airport, please be sure to complete and attach a Crystal Cruises luggage tag to each checked bag so it can be easily identified upon arrival.

Medical Information

A trained physician and medical staff are on call 24 hours a day. The professional services of this staff, as well as certain medications, are available on board at reasonable costs. Guests requiring ongoing medication, or having specific dietary needs, are advised to bring an ample supply of medication or dietary supplements with them in their carry-on luggage.

Guests with existing medical conditions, guests who cannot completely care for themselves and who may require treatment by the ship's medical staff, or guests who may constitute a risk or danger to anyone else on board must be reported in writing to Crystal Cruises' Onboard Guest Services Department by fax 310-785-3975 or email onboardgstsvcs@crystalcruises.com prior to departure. Crystal Cruises reserves the right, without liability, to refuse to board and transport such guests who are in need of constant care by the ship's staff.

Inoculations

Requirements for inoculations often change. Crystal Cruises informs you of the health requirements; however, it is your responsibility to have all required vaccinations with a signed International Certificate of Vaccination. We recommend that you contact your personal physician with any health concerns. Failure to comply may result in refusal of passage by Customs and Immigration authorities.
