Oct 25, Tuesday
New York City, New York, USA (overnight) »   Embark pm
Welcome to one of the world's most famous and exciting cities. Broadway, Times Square, the Empire State Building and Central Park are just some of the celebrated spectacles this bustling city has to offer. Giovanni da Verrazano was the first European to glimpse Manhattan Island in 1542, but the area was not explored until Henry Hudson arrived in 1609. It is said that Peter Minuit bought the entire island from Native Americans for $24 worth of beads and trinkets in 1629 - the biggest real estate bargain in history. In 1664 the Dutch surrendered to a British Fleet, and the town was renamed New York in honor of the Duke of York. George Washington was inaugurated here in 1789, and for a time, New York served as the country's capital. Since then, the city has grown spectacularly and has become one of the most exciting and electrifying cities in the country - not to mention one of the most rewarding to visit and explore.

Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA » 8 am 5 pm

No doubt what first comes to mind when you think of Cape Canaveral is the Kennedy Space Center, the launching pad for moon landings and space shuttle missions. But here on the Atlantic Coast midway between Jacksonville and Miami are plenty of earthly reasons to be engaged and impressed. Terrestrial wildlife is abundant at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Wide swaths of beach attract swimmers, volleyball players and visitors simply seeking a warm refuge in the Cape’s eternal summer. At the long slice of undeveloped coastline called the Canaveral National Seashore, over one thousand species of plants can be found, along with 310 species of birds. For visitors interested in people watching, the city of Cape Canaveral and Port Canaveral, one of the busiest cruise ports in the world, are ideal lookouts.

Nov 2, Wednesday
St. Barts/Gustavia, French West Indies » 10 am 6 pm
St. Barts forms part of the French Overseas Region of Guadeloupe. Descendants of settlers from Brittany and Normandy operate its tiny inns, shops and restaurants. This charming, slow-paced island attracts tourists year-round to its shores. The graceful meadows surrounded by low stone fences, spectacular beaches, the small volcanic mountains and the quaint Creole-style villages are just several of the alluring aspects of this tranquil island.
Nov 3, Thursday
Martinique/Fort-de-France, French West Indies » 9 am 6 pm
Martinique's well-deserved nickname is "Ile des Fleurs." The French name is so pleasing, but it was actually the native Arawak Indians who first knew the island for its lovely flowers. Here, towering mountains and verdant rainforests meet banana plantations and pineapple fields. At first sight, Christopher Columbus praised the island as the "best, most fertile and most charming land in the world." However, verdant mountains do not come without a price. The former capital, Saint Pierre, was destroyed by a violent eruption of the infamous Mount Pelée in 1902. Ironically, the only survivor was a prisoner who was being held in a subterranean jail cell. Ceded to France in 1815, Martinique has remained French under the status of an Overseas Department. A miniature part of France in the Caribbean, Martinique provides a plentitude of charm and ambiance as well as a high standard of living.
Nov 4, Friday
Isla de Margarite, Venezuela » 10 am 4 pm
Off the coast of Venezuela, this small island is a paradise for those who seek the solace and calmness that nature can create. Stroll on the golden beaches, or relax at a local resort with a cool drink in hand. Under swaying palms, you will indulge in listening to the serenity of lapping water and gazing at a vibrant sunset.
Nov 5, Saturday
Bonaire/Kralendijk, Netherlands Antilles » 10 am 4 pm

The "B" of Netherlands Antilles' ABC islands (with Aruba and Curaçao), Bonaire is the easternmost of the three. A small island – but at 112 square miles the middle-sized of the ABCs – and generally flat, it features some of the best beaches in the Antilles, huge wildlife reserve areas and year-round sunshine.

The charming beachside town of Kralendijk fits snugly into the leeward curve of the island. This capital of Bonaire features the ABC islands' signature pastel-colored buildings and old Dutch homes, reminders of the "home country." Sights include a colorful boat harbor and fish market, historical Fort Orange, the Old Fort museum, jewelry and duty-free shops, plus a pretty main square shaded by mimosa trees and surrounded by brightly colored flowers.
