Ian McDonnell has spent his career in the travel and tourism industry. He is extremely knowledgeable through working in the South Pacific, Australian, Asian and European regions with Qantas Airlines. He was Qantas' regional Manager in Hong Kong, Thailand, Fiji and the Pacific Island, North Queensland and Bali, Indonesia. He was also Qantas' Market Development Manager in Australia and held Airport Manager positions in Frankfurt, Germany, Perth, WA, and Port Morseby.
Ian has a Masters of Arts for a thesis on Australian Tourism to Fiji and Indonesia. Ian is active in the tourism industry in Australia and has undertaken several consultancies for various tourism bureaus. His passion is travel and he enjoys sharing his experiences and knowledge with others. For almost 20 years Ian has been a senior lecturer at the University of Technology, Sydney's Business School focusing on the marketing and management of tourism activities. Ian has visited New Zealand over twenty times over the past forty years, for both work and pleasure.
Capt. Robert "Hoot" Gibson (Murfreesboro, TN)
In 18 years as a NASA astronaut, Captain Robert “Hoot” Gibson flew five space flights, four of them as Mission Commander, aboard the Space Shuttles - Challenger, Columbia, Atlantis, and Endeavour. A veteran US Navy fighter pilot, he flew combat missions in Southeast Asia and attended the Navy Fighter Weapons School “Topgun” before being selected as an astronaut in 1978 in the first Space Shuttle Astronaut selection. His numerous honors include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2003.
Rhea Seddon (Murfreesboro, TN)
One of the first six women to enter NASA’s Astronaut Program, Dr. Rhea Seddon is a veteran of three Space Shuttle flights, totaling 30 days in space. In 1991 she was a Mission Specialist on the first Shuttle flight dedicated entirely to life sciences research and in 1993 she was the Payload Commander in charge of all science activities on Spacelab Life Sciences 2. The Assistant Chief Medical Officer of the Vanderbilt Medical Group for 11 years after leaving NASA, she is now a founding member of LifeWings Partners LLC, which uses aviation-based safety tools to improve safety and quality in health care.
Robert Warne (Arlington, VA)
Rob Warne served for 28 years as a Senior Foreign Service Officer with the US Department of State. Specializing in international economics, he held a variety of senior posts at the Department and aboard. He has worked on Asian affairs much of his life and authored books and articles, and lectured frequently on the region. He will speak on the policy and economic issues relating to Africa and the Indian sub-continent, as well as on current developments in terrorism, globalization, and emerging nations.
Rob Warne was President of a Washington, D.C. based think tank focusing on East Asia. This entailed regular contacts with regional leaders, US senior officials and members of Congress and conferences on the region at many US universities cities. He was also a university professor at several universities in the region. Currently he is a program Chair at the National Foreign Affairs Training Center of the US Department of State where he has been teaching for five years. A graduate of Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School for International and Public Affairs, he received an advanced degree in economics at The Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.
Luca Fantin began his professional career in 2000 after receiving his diploma from I.P.S.S.A.R. hotel school in Treviso, Italy. In Italy, he worked at the 1 Michelin star restaurants, Cracco and Osteria dell'Orso. He then moved to Spain to work at Akelarre and Mugaritz, both 2 Michelin star restaurants. After a year working in Tokyo and Italy, Luca settled in Tokyo where he became the Executive Chef of Il Ristorante at the Bulgari Ginza Tower. Luca's cooking style is characterized by a perfect balance between aesthetics and taste: every dish is a unique creation, conceived to stimulate desire. The presentation is so meticulous and the flavors so intense that the eyes and nose anticipate the experience that will be confirmed and sublimated by the taste.
Tom Walton (Sydney, Australia)
Tom Walton has been a passionate cook since he was a child and says he is heavily influenced by his Lebanese neighbor and adopted grandmother. She would let him tend to her vegetable garden and cook alongside her which has carried into his contemporary Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. After training under fellow Australian chef, Damien Pignolet at Bistro Moncur, Tom became head chef and was awarded two chefs hats during his six years at the restaurant. Tom is now head chef at the popular Bondi Beach restaurant and bar, The Bucket List. He was recently featured on the cover of the November, 2012 issue of Australian Gourmet Traveller and the restaurant was voted one of Sydney's Top 10 "Bars with Food" by the 2012 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.
Eugenio Jardim (San Francisco, CA)
A native of Brazil, Jardim moved to San Francisco in 1988 and worked at several of the best restaurants in the city. He is now Wine Director at "Jardiniere" in San Francisco where he has built a reputation for seeking out new and exciting wines. He has established critically acclaimed Wine Programs for many successful restaurants in the Bay Area and beyond, including: Chef Loretta Keller’s Coco 500, SF Magazine’s Rising Star Chef, Jessica Boncutter’s Bar Jules, Chef Elizabeth Faulkner’s Citizen Cake and Orson, and, most recently he created the wine program for Manzanita at the Ritz-Carlton Highlands Resort in Tahoe, a new restaurant venture of multiple award winning Chef Traci Des Jardins. He can currently be seen on the popular PBS weekly television series Joanne Weir's Cooking Class, as the show’s wine expert.

John Parris’ passion for photography is very clear to see in the images he captures with his portrait commissions. Whether contemporary, formal or informal, the images capture the character of the couple or individual to provide a lasting and cherished memory. A Fellow of both the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and the Master Photographers Association (MPA), John is highly acclaimed around the world for his portraiture work. In 2011, the BIPP named John, Scottish Photographer of the Year, as well as their Overall Scottish Photographer of the Year. John was also named MPA‘s 2011 UK Kodak Wedding Photographer of the Year. In addition, he won the MPA’s title of Scottish Classic Portrait Photographer of the Year and an Award for Excellence for a montage of images from a Master Collection commission on board Crystal Cruises. John will set up reservations to have exclusive portrait sessions with guests.
