Verla Brown (Hilton Head Island, SC)
Verla Brown is an accomplished lecturer and artist who has been specializing in art appreciation lectures and art workshops around the world. Verla’s preferred art medium is oriental brush painting, and she is well known for her “People Around The World” collection; a 100 painting depiction of characters in native dress performing the daily tasks of their culture. They are shown in many exhibitions as well as added to private collections. Verla has lectured for many Fortune 500 corporations, including Westinghouse, General Electric, Mobile Oil Corporation, and Eli Lilly. She has been a guest lecturer for several universities, highlighting the special significance and impact of art on a global scale. Most recently, she was a lecturer for The University of South Carolina, on the subject of Southeast Asia. To date, Verla has provided enrichment experiences and destination lectures on 17 world cruises and over 500 cruises on lines in the six-star and above category.
Deborah Fallows (Washington, D.C.)
Deborah Fallows is a writer and linguist. She has written extensively on language, education, families and work, China, and travel for The Atlantic, National Geographic, Slate, and The New York Times. Her latest book, Dreaming in Chinese: Mandarin Lessons in Life, Love, and Language, is based on her 3-year experience living and working in China. Most recently she worked for the Pew Internet Project, publishing reports on internet use in the US and China. She worked previously in data management at Oxygen Media and in admissions at Georgetown University. When not at home in Washington, D.C., Deborah and her husband, James Fallows, are flying around the US in their small plane, reporting on the reinvention of small towns for The Atlantic's American Futures project.

He has won both the National Book Award and the National Magazine Award and has appeared frequently on TV, from the Charlie Rose Show to the Colbert Report. The relaxing and social aspects of knitting have been added on select cruises. On this sailing, Leola Bonham (Largo, FL) will host knitting classes and all levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to knit together sharing skills and advice in a congenial environment. Participation is limited.

Want to take your home movies to the next level and learn how to share them with family and friends? In five entertaining classes, learn how to shoot and edit short movies using an iPad. Improve your video and photo skills. The course is taught by professionals, but aimed at non-professionals.
Course requirements: please bring your own iPad pre-loaded with the iMovie application. If you do not already own the iMovie for iOS app, you must have iOS8 in order to download iMovie from the App Store. If you have an older version of the iMovie app, be sure to update to the current version. You cannot download the app on board the ship. Please sign up online using the Priority Check-in & Planning Center (PCPC). If you sign up on board, make sure to sign up EARLY, in the Library, as the class size is limited.

R. Bruce Murray (Deep Cove, Nova Scotia)
Bruce Murray has been a C.P.G.A. member for over 40 years serving the C.P.G.A. as a Director, as well as serving as chairman of many association portfolios. He has been a Head Professional/Director of Golf at five clubs in his career the most prominent being Royal Montréal, Shaughnessy in Vancouver and now Wildfire in Lakefield, Ontario. Bruce's responsibilities have varied within the scope of the various clubs, but teaching has been and remains his main passion. He has taught students of every level, from novices to professionals and leading amateurs. Bruce is now retired from the private club life and lives outside Halifax, Nova Scotia.
